'Za from the quirky and very particular.

The best pizza in the world (seriously), from a fellow whose love for his ingredients borderlines on the obsessive. Anthony Mangieri closed the doors to his small East Village shop earlier this year, leaving fans from all over the New York-New Jersey area hungry and heartbroken. Mangieri moved from his first restaurant locale (in my hometown on the Jersey Shore) over a decade ago, and maintained quite a loyal following, despite drastic environment and price changes. What's a truly enamored pizza-lover to do when the most hard-headed, diligent, pizza guru closes up shop and talks of reopening in San Francisco of all places? All that's left to do is reminisce, I suppose...
