New Yorkers now have the highest life expectancy they've ever had, but the question is why?
The NY Daily News seems to believe that the crackdown on smoking in the city is a major cause of the five month increase of life for babies born in 07 compared to 06.
Popular online blog Gawker.com shares the same information(and links to the Daily News story), but goes beyond what the news story said, adding their own input on the same fact.
This difference, and the linking by Gawker.com, is interesting because it shows the way that these online blogs and web-mags differ from the newspaper story. Everyone is saying that print media is leaving us and everything will soon be online; we need to think not only of newspapers switching to online format, but also sources of news that were born online and grew online.
