If you are unaware their is actually a pseudo rule book that governs journalistic writing as a dictionary governs how much we suck at spelling. That would be AP Style book which has indexed guidelines for almost any journalistic writing fork in the road you can imagine. This is a parody of that book in all its daily twitter hilarity.
