marching orders for this week and next

1) by thursday 9 am email me your story pitch for next week; it will be due tuesday at noon, as usual (remember to 'pinpoint' your story on the map). Here are a couple of events you can 'cover' if you can't think of anything:

tomorrow night: Council Members Letitia James, Brad Lander, & Stephen Levin in conjunction with Community Boards 2, 6, and 8 present a Public Information Meeting on the STREET CLOSINGS at ATLANTIC YARDS.

next monday night: The New School History Teach in: Old Left/ New Left will take place in

the Theresa Lang Student Center (55 W. 13th St., 2nd Fl) on March 1st

from 7:30 - 9:00 pm.

2) go to one (or more!) of the events at the 'limiting knowledge in a democracy' conference and post a paragraph-long description of the action, a particularly telling quote, or a scintillating apercu that came to you whilst observing the event. aim to edify and, if possible, amuse your blogmates.

3) read chapter two of wrestling with moses and chapters 2-4 of the power broker for next thursday.
